In Traces, Svanhildur Gréta investigates her own volume, the space that contains all of her being. Wherever we tread, we leave traces that persist longer than ourselves. Research has shown that our bodies remember, we carry the histories and trauma of past generations imprinted in our genetic material. An embryo in the wound carries this inheritance, a pain that hurt long before it was born. The space that carries this lineage hides under the skin but traces of it break forth in the form of our actions and thoughts.

The work consists of photographs taekn during the research of this volume and an installation where the volume is displayed in three, abandoned plastic containers. Interplay on the material and the spiritual – three containers full of a person.
