From Tvinna/Thread

Pantsuits were an essential tool for women operating in spaces historically dominated by men. Pantsuits hid a woman's femininity for it was a serious liability.

By glorifying the symbol of the suit, power and masculinity, femininity was marginalized. Whilst leaning in towards the landscape molded and dominated by men, women and minorities stripped down of their identity and heritage.

Thread reflects the artist's research and torn feelings towards the illusion of equality utilizing the pantsuit as a symbol. The title is drawn from a Christmas song familiar to Icelanders about a boy who received a ball for Christmas and a girl who received a needle and thread.
